2024 NBA Finals MVP Odds: Consensus Favorite Tatum Advances to Eastern Conference Finals
Jayson Tatum is the consensus favorite by the 2024 NBA Finals MVP odds across our best NBA betting sites as his Boston Celtics secure their spot in the Eastern Conference Finals.
It looked like it would be difficult to displace Jayson Tatum and Nikola Jokic atop the NBA Finals MVP odds for weeks. While Jokic briefly slipped down the oddsboard when the Denver Nuggets fell in a 2-0 hole to the Minnesota Timberwolves, he's quickly rebounded to again become Tatum's biggest challenger as the Nuggets take a 3-2 series lead into Game 6. Bettors who like the Denver big man certainly regret missing out when he was in that series hole.
Tatum remains a sizable favorite, with the Boston Celtics advancing over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the best player on the best team in the league. Jokic is the reigning MVP, and the Nuggets are the most likely team to come out of the Western Conference again.
Here is our look at the top 2024 NBA Finals MVP odds from our best NBA betting sites, and don't miss our NBA playoffs betting preview.

NBA Finals MVP favorites
Jayson Tatum (+140 via BetMGM)
Without much movement in the odds at the top of the board through one-plus rounds, it's likely best to hold out on betting Tatum in case the Celtics stumble further in this series or the next.
Celtics fans hoping to back Tatum in this market should be hoping the Celtics fall behind early in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Nikola Jokic (+370 via FanDuel)
Odds as high as +2000 on Jokic to win this award for a second straight season were cut drastically to a market-best +800 after Denver rebounded with a Game 3 win. Even those days are long gone with Denver's Game 4 victory as the 2023 NBA Finals MVP is trading as short at +375.
Jokic is posting shy of a triple-double through nine postseason games, going for 28.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game. While the assists are holding him back from the triple-double, they are second in the Association in the postseason.
Anthony Edwards (+1000 via bet365)
Edwards' odds to be the NBA Finals MVP plummeted after his 43-point eruption in Game 1 against the Nuggets. If Minnesota can escape this second-round series and go on to win the West, Edwards' skyrocketing public opinion will make him a very popular bet in this market.
His odds were raised slightly following Minnesota's Games 3 and 5 losses. While the Timberwolves' hopes have decreased after losing three straight to the Nuggets, a team-high 27 points in a Game 6 victory have cut his odds in half between Thursday and Friday.

NBA Finals MVP odds explained
NBA Finals MVP odds are a way for sportsbooks to set the probability of a specific player winning the MVP award for the NBA Finals. These odds represent the sportsbook's estimation of a player's likelihood to be named the NBA Finals MVP based on various factors such as performance, team success, and historical trends.
The odds for each player are determined based on a combination of factors, including their regular-season and playoff performance, team success, historical trends, public opinion, and betting patterns. Sportsbooks adjust the odds throughout the series based on the players' performances and other relevant factors.
The shorter the odds, the more likely the player is to win the award in the eyes of the sportsbooks. If a player is +260 to win NBA Finals MVP, that means they have a greater chance of winning it than a player that is +1700. However, a bet pays out more if the odds are longer.
It's important to note that odds are not a guarantee but rather a representation of the sportsbook's estimation of the probability of a particular outcome. Different sportsbooks may offer slightly different odds, so it's advisable to compare odds from multiple sources to find the best value.
